Esteemed Piano Professor to Perform at March First Friday in the Chapel
Carey Scheck, whom many know locally as the organist/pianist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Presbyterian Church of La Porte, will be the featured performer at the March 3 First Friday in the Chapel concert. The program starts at noon, and is free and open to the public. It takes place in the La Porte Hospital Family Chapel, 1007 Lincolnway, La Porte. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.
Scheck, who is also an adjunct professor of piano at Valparaiso University, holds a bachelor’s degree in church music from Valparaiso University, and a master’s degree in piano performance from Western Illinois University. She teaches private lessons in addition to her church and university work. She and her husband Mike live in La Porte with their son Rowan, and two dogs Ziggy and Zelda.
